For it's GREAT special effects and compelling story line. For it's achievements in it's time. A film far ahead of it's time! Even though it has terrible performances - except for Gary Oldman - it's one of those movies where after you saw it, it feels like no time has passed. Pity about the Resurrection! A timeless 80's classic with some beautiful bodies! Far better than the first two Mad Max movies. I suspect Tina Turner might have had something to do with it... I imagine this is the way first contact could really happen. The film is packed with philosophical content! Great special effects and a story bordering on horror. I just can't help wondering why the second movie was so b-grade! Not one of the best the second time round, but it still poses some interesting questions.

David Bowie was brilliant - at least for once in his life! But what else could we expect from Jim Henson Productions. Another Jim Henson Productions production. Never has the leightmotiefs of Light and Darkness been better illustrated. What would any TOP 10 list be without a Hurby movie! Everybody's gotto love that bug! A greek classic. I miss the days Hollywood knew what real hero stories was about. For Ed Wood's guts! This one is for Dulp Lundgren. Fae Dunnaway was Brilliant in this. Wicked Which of the West, eat your heart out! Much better than the Superman movies. Sometimes it's best to leave well enough alone. Batman and Robin was something between Gorilla's in the Mist and a b-grade computer game.
(Alternative Title: A Gorilla on Ice) A movie that will stay in all our hearts! You might not have heard of this 1960's film, but it's really worth looking out for! What else would you call it?

A wonderful story about the living dead - not vampires. A deep philosophical story with superb performances. A little low budget, but still worth seeing. A full male cast - men playing woman and men. The realism of this experimental film is astonishing. A deep drama with great performances, directing and script. Jessica Lang really outdoes herself. An unforgettable performance by Ewan Mcgreggor. The film has wonderful visual scenes. Any film with Glenn Close makes my list. This film is very complex and not for those who are looking for light entertainment. A Martin Scorsese film. See it at your own risk. Brilliant! Just absolutely brilliant! Joan Collins can act if she wants to. Billy Connely can actually act? Judy Dench is as always - unbeatable! This very sensual film impressed me enough to buy own copy! Visual brilliance, with superb performances by the whole cast. A very stimulating film!

TOP 10 DRAMA'S
It's seldom that a remake is better than the original. Brilliant directing and acting. It's a long film, but this doesn't take anything off the movie. This must be on everybody's list by now. Good performances, Good directing and a very clever script. I still believe that Elizabeth was a more powerful film though. Shakespeare is clever and sharp, but it doesn't leave any scars. Haven't seen it? A definite gap in your education. Written by South Africa's own Athol Fugard. A deep sensitive film about the live of a well known South African sculptress. Nobody does it like Bette Midler! She had me crying more than once. Another great, but less well known Bette Midler film. A very erotic film. Not too bad performances, but great directing and a very intriguing plot. Slow, but interesting enough to forget about tomorrow's shopping list for a while. This was a big surprise and very refreshing after I saw the sentimental and cheesy Terms of Endearment. Shirley Mac Claine was brilliant. Pity about Jack Nicholson. I'm sure there has to be a better actor out there? Kevin Spacey is beautiful. The film is powerful, fast and well directed. Even though I think Joan Collins is Beauty and Elizabeth Taylor Beast, there can't be any debate between who's the better actress. This is only one of the unforgettable performances by Lizzy! One of the few films that earned every a ward it won.

TOP 10 COMEDIES
Can we ever forget! Not for the faint hearted! For the unforgettable Bette Davis Dolly has always been one of my favourites. She may not be able to act as good as Cate Blanchette, but I can just sit for hours and listen to her voice. A very human story about something in all of us - pride. Told you so! Bette Midler entertains again. Fast paced and visually stimulating. They don't make them like they used to. One of Steve Martin's earlier films. I saw it when I was 8 and is still looking for the film to see it again. It must've been an April Fools! Now when do we get our money back? haha - the joke is over!

TOP 10 HORROR
Nightmare On Elm Street 1-5, Freddy's Dead and Wes Craven's Final Nightmare. This series has set new standards for the horror industry. Pity nobody got it right yet. A must see for any b-grade horror fan like me! At last a horror film with a budget! I saw this when I was very young. And again last year. It is still a very good film. Even my boyfriend - who never watches horror films, agrees. Mind Blowing! Clive Barker always delivers. Very good performances and directing. Horror often gets accused of not being believable. Well, have you seen The Craft? A true story and not over dramatized. A real gem in the collection. A true classic! Probably Stephen King's best. A really well produced film. Scary! Cher is as always - can't take my eyes off her. Tom cruise and Brad Pitt makes such a cute couple. The sexual undertones of the movie are incredible. Well performed and directed. Brilliant costumes and sets.

TOP 10 ANIMATION
A truly remarkable film. A brilliant script. They even made a porn rip-off of this - that good! For the breathtaking graphics. I never thought I'd actually like a movie with Woody Allen, but I have to admit, this was pretty good. If only the film didn't stop in the middle of the story. It's still very good though. An adult animation about a cat solving a murder mystery. Great songs and teapot. I still sing songs from the movie when I shower. I didn't think it possible for Disney to produce another great film, but I was proven wrong. What next? For it's sick sense of humour: 'Don't go towards the light.' ' I can't help it, it's so beautiful....' tzzzzzzzzzt.

TOP 10 MUSICALS
For Liza Mannelli's brilliant performance. Angela Lansbury is incredible. A very cheerful, witty femistic film. Bette does it again. Babs for president! A very extravagant film with impressive sets and costumes. Just plain unforgettable. Still a winner. I saw 4 of the 7 films and the West End production. All worth the effort. I still believe Madonna should have gotton the Oscar. You try singing and acting like that at the same time! If you haven't seen this, put off the computer, go to the video shop and get it! How could we forget!

TOP 10 ACTION/THRILLER
Fast, very fast. It's not great on the story line department, but the special effects are great. A very interesting story. The performances leaves a lot to be desired, but it's a film that is worth a second view. Good story, performances and directing. Real entertainment. Interesting story line. For Sigorney Weaver. Bad acting, but a story line that will keep you interested. Still one of the best. A black comedy. Good performances and directing. Another movie with Madonna. I am not too fond of Thrillers and Action movies, but this is truly a good film. The story af Ma Baker and her Boys. Very interesting.
